What I have been up to & Upcoming Weekend

Once again it is that time of year when Dad and I go to Boston/Salem for Dad's Nursing School Reunion/Meeting and visit my brother and his family. I can't wait. I love it in that area. It is so much fun. When in Salem we take long walks to just about anywhere you can imagine. I will give a report when I get back.

Not much else has been going on. I have a couple of Drs appointment. But that should be a breeze since I am doing so well.

I am still doing a recap for a website. I watch the show Guiding Light and write up a short paragraph or two about the day's ep.

I am also still tagging for a couple of Yahoogroups and my own. So that keeps me busy, but I love it.

Beauty and the Beast (Plainville Choral Society)

Last Saturday Night I went to to Plainville HS to see the Plainville Choral Society put on the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast.

After seeing the animated version. I have to say this version was just as delightful. The stage version has a couple more songs in it than the animated movie, and still moves beautifully. The costumes unique. The set also unique. The cast superb. The songs with one or 2 exceptions I recognized from the animated version, the ones added were really lovely.

The Songs

Belle, No Matter What, Me, This is Home, Gaston, How Long Must this Go On, Be Our Guest, If I Can't Love Her, Something There, Human Again, Maison Des Lunes, There's Been a Change in Me, Mob Song, The Battle, and the Transformation Finale.

All sung beautifully. The girl that plays Belle was absolutely perfect. She also was Marian the Librarian in The Music Man in another good production. Michael A Fox is the Beast/Prince. He also sang beautifully. Lola Wishart was Mrs Potts. It was like listening to Angela Lansbury. She Played the Mayors Wife in Music Man. Maurice, Belle's Father was played by Mal Cummings. He did it with softness and fun. Dave Brown played Lumiere. He was cute. Foster White played Cogsworth with such fun. Katherine Barron was Babette, Sandy Butler the Wardrobe, Jim Lawrence was Gaston. He was very good. Had me convinced. Larry Buckler was Lefou, Skip Burritt as Monsieur D Arque. And a young man from Plainville's Youth Group was Chip. Adorable and fun to watch. WTG Kiddo!! The 3 "Silly Girls" were played by Becky Aldi, Melissa Matthews, Jessica Backer-Wilde respectively. And they were silly. :) Duane Paul had a dual roles as the Bookseller, which he was good at and the 1st Crony. Doug Carlson was the Narrator and 2nd Crony. His nice voice was good for the Narrator. And as the 2nd Crony he was also superb. I give this production 5 out of 5 stars.
