My thoughts for 9/14/05

Well, just we are getting rid of one hurricane another is about to pounce on USA again. This time it is N. Carolina. I hope my Aunt Chris and Uncle Greg Mastaler make it out ok. They seem to have in the past storms. Now to our new apointment (John Roberts) to Supreme Court Chief Justice. He really is doing well in the hearings. I really showed himself today when Sen Edward M. Kennedy was doing some questioning about civil rights and the Voting Act. He is likely to win nomination from what I hear and read. This is a little snip it. (He sparred anew with Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (news, bio, voting record) about civil rights. "Did I hear that it's not constitutionally suspect as far as you view it today?" the Massachusetts Democrat asked about a key section of the Voting rights Act. "Yes," said Roberts, going beyond what he had said on Tuesday.) I really like this guy. He has a good head on his shoulders and he really knows how to hold his own. Sunday is the Emmys. I just read that the Creative Emmys came out announcing the behind the scenes people and the guest star Emmys an I am very upset. Here is a paragraph. I cannot even speak about why I am upset. This says it all. (An MIA Ray Liotta won the Emmy for Guest Actor in a Drama for his work on ER, while the nowhere-to-be-seen Amanda Plummer won for Guest Actress in a Drama for her role on Law & Order: SVU. Plummer's win meant a dubious bit of TV history had been achieved by fellow contender Angela Lansbury. The veteran actress was up for her guest role in Law & Order: SVU and is now 0-for-18 at the Emmys, making her the biggest loser at the Primetime Emmys and tying her with Susan Lucci for the most Emmy nominations without a win. Lucci finally won a Daytime Emmy with her 19th nomination. ) Now do you know why I am upset. If you knew me, you would know why. Night
